May 2003 Go meeting
For this event we had a very distinguished visitor from the British Go Association. Francis Roads has been playing and teaching Go in the UK since his university days some decades ago.
Starting off with a few rules and the history and philosophy of the game.
Go boards come in all shapes and sizes. A good supply of portable boards was present.
Satoru and Ken play on a full 19x19 board.
Francis plays 3 teaching games simultaneously.
All boards were in full use until closing time.
There are 5 or 6 clubs in London. The British Go Association website has a lot of good information on finding places to play. Else just ask Ken or a comittee member about it and they can point you in the right direction.
